ABOUT ME

I am a freelance performer, singer and musician living in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

 

Part of my work in the field of theatre and music

2017 - now: Founder and leader of Vokalgruppen NOOR, the World Choir and KONUR.

2020: Composed the music for Zinkdrengene by AKUT360, directed by Andreas Dawe.

2018 - 2020: Singer in the a cappella group Vokalselskabet GLAS.

2006 - 2019: Actress and musician in Teatr ZAR - the resident theatre company of the Grotowski Institute.

2018: Released my debut album 'A Thousand Tongues'.

2016 - 2019: Solo performance 'A Thousand Tongues', performed at the Theatre Olympics in Poland as well as in USA, Iceland and Sweden. Co-produced by Source Material Collective and directed by Samantha Shay. 

2016 - now: Performer, singer and traditional music curator in the Source Material Collective performances 'Monument or King Lear' and  'of Light' directed by Samantha Shay. The last was conceived under the mentorship of Marina Abramovic, and the performance was later recommend in The Guardian by Björk.

Part of my education

Master of Folk Music from the Danish National Academy of Music.

Bachelor in Folk and World Music from the Music Academy of Malmö, Sweden.

Private lessons with Anne Rosing, Jim Daus Hjernøe (VoPa), Mahsa Vahdat (Persian Singing), Jonathan Hart (Roy Hart technique), Tempvs Fvgit (Corsican polyphony), the Pilpani family (Georgian polyphony).

Awards

Musicians Working Grant 2019 from the Danish Arts Counsel.

Nominated for Danish Music Awards Folk 2019 - World Singer of The Year.

Nominated for Danish Music Awards Folk 2019 - New Talent of The Year.

'A Thousand Tongues' was nominated for Best Original Piece and Best Lighting at

GRÍMAN 2018, the Icelandic Theatre Awards.
